What are Cloud Dragons?
Cloud Dragons are the larval stages of more powerful lung dragon gods with each one being unique with their own traits, body type, magic and color combination, each one also has potential to "evolve" into a new form depending on the quality of their surroundings and their soul. Every dragon can follow down a path of good or evil, or even stay as a baby forever living in joyful baby bliss for their entire lifespan. Those that may unlock, train and harness their magical essence, "grow up" or ascend into mighty gods or guardians who use their vast power and energy to protect and watch over nature and all other living things around them. Alternatively they may go down a much darker path, becoming polluted, dark, and miserable creatures who feast on bad feelings of anger and fear. It all depends on how fate (you!) guides them!
Birth and development
Cloud Dragons are born from ancient ascended gods who divide a chunk of their magical power to create newborn dragons, leaving them with less energy every time. Their eggs are left alone in a batch of 5-10, light and hanging effortlessly in the air high above the land. They are a blank slate, over much time before they hatch they are influenced by weather patterns, temperature, and cloud formations around them. Some dragons may be more influenced by certain patterns than others, so upon hatching, the siblings will look vastly different from one another, though twins or even triplets can happen on very rare occasions.
Newborn dragons will instinctively find and group up with other newly hatched clutches from other gods to form a large social group. They are generally peaceful and accepting of each other and will spend their time helping to forage, make friends and develop tight bonds with other dragons as well as forming their own social circles within the community. They stay safe with each other, but also posses another advantage to protect their fragile selves. As their physical bodies vibrate on another dimensional frequency, they are rendered invisible to most hostile creatures that would want to prey on them, a magical ability given to them at birth to help them survive in more hostile worlds.
Over a span of many years the dragons will live out their lives, either blissfully unaware or uncaring about the world around them, or they may have a moment where they begin to unlock the beginnings of their elemental powers and spend many years perfecting their magic to prepare themselves for ascension.
